Street Kings, which stars Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans, Hugh Laurie and a lot more, will open in theaters on April 11, 2008. This is on top of my must-see movies in the coming weeks. Why? It's certainly not because I read the synopsis of the movie but because I saw the action-packed trailer of Street Kings.
I suggest you view the trailer first before reading about the synopsis of Street Kings. Here's the thing: If I read the synopsis first before watching the trailer, then you wouldn't have anything to read right now. The synopsis was a very bland description and representation of Street Kings. That alone could have killed my curiosity about the movie and not even bother to look for the Street Kings' trailer. However, having viewed the trailer first (saw it in the theater), I was curious as to what the story is about (primarily because I didn't get it from watching the trailer!). Despite being disappointed by the dullness of the synopsis, I am still looking forward to watching Street Kings because the trailer is hot, action-packed, and heart-stoppingly effective!
Of course, the trailer could have just been hyped-up and Street Kings will just be a dud. In the same manner, the trailer could just be a glimpse of the exciting cinematic experience that Street Kings will bring. But, it's anybody's guess now. We'll just have to go see Street Kings in theaters on April 11 before we give the final verdict.
