What do you think of the celebrity chef restaurants in Las Vegas? Did any of you plan a trip to Las Vegas specifically to dine at a celebrity chef restaurant? Or did you stumble upon one while you were already in Las Vegas? What did you think of them? Did they wow or disappoint you?
They say that Wolfgang Puck started the trend of celebrity chef restaurants in Las Vegas. From the first time we found ourselves dining at Spago in the Forum Shops in Caesar’s Palace on our first trip to Las Vegas together, my husband and I were hooked on celebrity chef restaurants. On that same trip to Vegas we stumbled upon Emeril’s Fish House at the MGM. It was only after we returned home to San Francisco that we “discovered” Emeril Lagasse was a celebrity chef on the Food Network.
Too Hot Tamales chefs, Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, wowed us with poolside tacos and shaker Margaritas at Border Grill inside Mandalay Bay on another trip to Las Vegas.
Our next encounter with an unknown-to-us celebrity chef occurred when we had lunch at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone at the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood. David Burke is doing amazing things with food there. We were excited to get to know the food of yet another celebrity chef.
Our latest, but certainly not last, celebrity chef encounter was with Mario Batali at his casual eatery, Enoteca San Marco, located on the Venetian's Piazza San Marco in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. It was absolutely amazing. Who knew you could transform simple food into surprising culinary delights?
While there are many more celebrity chef restaurants yet to explore, our next stop will be Bobby Flay and his Mesa Grill at Caesar’s Palace. And while celebrity chef restaurants may not always fit the budget, we feel they’re worth it for an occasional splurge. And what better time to splurge than on your next trip to Las Vegas?
