Mark Derwin is playing a new role in the new ABC family show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. His new character, George Juergens is the father of a teenage girl. He is married to Anne Juergens, played by Molly Ringwald. The show premiered on July 01 at 8:00pm est.
Mark Derwin has also played the character of Ben on One Life to Live. Ben Davidson was reunited with family after his arrival to Llanview. His past was a little bit sketchy but it was later discovered that he was connected to the Mob. Ben was a doctor and used his knowledge to work for the mob. After his arrival to Llanview he formed a tight bond with his brother, Sam. Ben fell in love with Vicki and they began their life together. They overcome several obstacles and eventually Ben’s past caught up with him and he was sent to prison. During a prison riot he was shot and as a result he slipped into a coma. Vicki was devastated as she clung to his side. Meanwhile, Vicki became very ill and after seeing the doctor she found out that her heart was very weak and was failing. As her life became more threatened everyday, something had to be done. The only heart that was a perfect match was Ben’s heart. As a heart wrenching twist to the storyline, Vicki’s body was able to accept Ben’s heart. Today, Vicki lives her life to the fullest taking care of Jessica and Natalie. She has grandchildren as well as a boyfriend of her own.
But viewers haven’t seen the last of Ben yet. Ben Davidson fans will be able to see him one more time on July 21 and July 22 as he appears again from Heaven. This is the 40th anniversary of One Life to Live and he is joining in the celebration. Be sure to tune in as you watch Ben visit the show one more time.
