ABC’s General Hospital will start its next season on the spin off Night Shift on July 21 at 11:00 pm EST. Joining the returning cast is a well known actor that is no stranger to General Hospital, Antonio Sabato Jr. In 1992, Antonio joined General Hospital. He left the daytime soap to pursue his acting career in Earth 2. Since then he has been seen on Melrose Place
as Amanda’s abusive ex-husband and If Looks Could Kill. He has received
such recognition as People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People and an
appearance in Janet Jackson’s Love Will Never Do without You video.
Antonio Sabato Jr. will play the character of Jagger Cates. Antonio originated this character in 1992 through 1994. He made a brief appearance in 1995. In the upcoming Night shift, Jagger Cates is an FBI agent. But he wasn’t always an FBI agent.
Jagger Cates was abandoned when he was younger, as well as his brother, Stone, and his sister, Gina. He had a hard life but managed to keep his head above the water. Jagger married the love of his life, Karen and moved to San Francisco. Later on Karen would come back to Port Charles to work while Jagger stayed behind. Their marriage was shaky and the temporary separation would help them both. After making her decision to go back to Jagger in San Francisco, she found that Jagger had an affair while she was gone. Jagger and Karen divorced and later he would lose Karen all together when she died from injuries suffered from being hit by a car.
Night Shift is a show that uses the same characters from General Hospital. The characters are doctors, nurses, staff and patients of General Hospital. In season one there were a lot of conflicts with characters between General Hospital
and Night Shift but the producer’s vow that this will all get
straightened out in the second season. They have hired a new team of
writers as well as Lisa De Cazotte, the executive producer of Passions.
Antonio has played in such movies as Mysterious as the character of Michael in 2008 and Crash Landin in 2005 as the character Major John Masters. He has guest starred in several shows such as Ally McBeal, Lois and Clark, and Melrose Place. In 1998, he starred on Becker as the Subway Guy. He co-starred with Ted Danson , Hattie Winston, Shawnee Smith, Alex Desert , Saverio Guerra , Terry Farrell, and Nancy Travis.
