Attack of the Zombies!!

"I turn the water on, let the water warm up, and then get in the shower. Two minutes into taking my shower, I hear a "THUD." Another minute passes and I hear the door to the bathroom open, then the shower curtain starts to move slowly, as if blowing in the wind. I try to ignore it, but there is an awful eerie feeling. So I pull the curtain back and look into the room. I see my oldest...just standing there. I try talking to him, but no response. Without warning, he runs at me...*SCREAM*!"

Nightofthelivingdeadaffiche_2 Can you imagine if something like that really was to happen? I shudder at the thought. But with the creative minds, such as George A. Romero at work, they have come up with an awful enemy for us...ZOMBIES! Now I know you may laugh, but think with me here. When zombies first came to the big screen, it seemed fake because there really was no way of knowing how it got started! Night of the Living Dead, the first to bring zombies to us, just showed them walking around and following the living, biting them...until they are dead. All we knew was that if you got bit by one of these monsters you became one of them! Gee, how fun is that?! In the movie, it was announced that one scientist thought that it was because of radiation from a Venus space probe that exploded in Earth's atmosphere. Ok THEN!! Dawn of the Dead also didn't tell us what happened. In the remake (I never got a chance to see the original), it just starts out in a hospital and you hear of someone who got bit in their arm. Later (after all chaos breaks out), on t.v., it reports that the "virus" is being spread by being bit. See, it just seems so unreal that you never think or expect it to really happen.

Then you have these other movies: 28 Days/Weeks Later, Resident Evil, Planet Terror, I am Legend, and yes (I LOVE this title), we have Zombie Strippers. All dealing with some scientific outbreak that takes over the area...and then the world. THIS is what scares me. Why? Because it actually may come true some day in the near future. Especially in I am Legend because it is not only caused by a bite, but it is airborne as well. And then in Planet Terror, it is a type of gas that leaks out, so again...airborne and bite. Scientists are constantly trying to find a cure of some sorts, whether it be for cancer, a plague, anything. And if it's not a cure, then they are constantly trying to come up with some new drug!

Whether it be for cancer, AIDS, or the "Fountain of Youth", scientists are always hard at work. And then you have that huge "what if." What if they really do stumble upon the "fountain of youth," but instead of beauty and youth, we turn into some hideous flesh-eating NASTY zombie? I shudder, again, at the thought. But the question is, are we ready? Are we prepared for something like that? How fast it spreads astounds me. And here we are living our lives unaware of the possibility of "what if."

Are you ready?

Oh my goodness! I just re-read my post here and I forgot something that may be important to my post! In the movie, I am Legend, the reason why there was an outbreak there is scientists thought they found the cure for cancer. But instead of a cure, people became infected.

So sorry about that!!
