Movies, like most of the entertainment industry, are a
mixture of art and commerce. However, when a viewer limits his or her movie
experience to mainstream popcorn flicks, it is probable to assume that they are
getting more commerce than art. Over the last few decades
There is an ever growing treasure chest of fantastic classics that will never be watched or appreciated due to the lack of publicity and recognition they receive. I urge all casual movies fans to rip away the bonds of the mainstream media and start to actively search of those cult classics that are criminally being neglected. You might want to begin your journey with an excellent movie called The Boondock Saints.
Even though Boondock Saints has experienced increased
appreciation over time, I am still dismayed by the amount of people who have
never seen or watched the movie. I am positive that more movies watchers have
seen the abomination called Starship Troopers than Boondock Saints, which is
arguably one of the best movies ever made. Starring Willem Dafoe, (great actor)
Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and Billy Connolly, Boondock Saints is a
strange tale of two Irish brothers who are accidentally thrown into an even
stranger situation involving the mafia, crazy gun fights and a battered toilet.
The acting and dialogue are fantastic and the plot is so strong that it will
make you wonder why more people haven’t taken the time to see this work of art.
Hollywood rough; it just takes a bit of time to brush
away the dirt.
